WWE preparing to RAID ROH? WHAT... THE SHIT?

Alright…

I have not been able to confirm this from ANYBODY in WWE management yet and have only sourced it from TWO people. So if this does not come to fruition, then I wholeheartedly apologize but I feel this is important enough to put up right away.

Apparently somebody within the upper levels of WWE management is VERY pissed about Ring of Honor moving their HD-Net television series to Monday Nights. Now keep in mind, ROH on HDNet is NOT a direct competitor to WWE Raw; their show comes on one hour earlier at 8PM Eastern. However for some reason or another, individuals who shall remain nameless see this as some kind of challenge or something. I really can’t speak for anybody, but something has certainly struck a nerve.

As a result, it has come to my attention that the eyes of WWE heirarchy are now focused on Ring of Honor more than ever before. There are talents that ROH spotlights that WWE has their eye on bringing in as part of their developmental program and as showcasing them as possible future WWE superstars. WWE has already attained a measure of success with one of ROH’s top guys; CM Punk, and has a number of ROH alumni come through the doors in the past several years (many of which went right back out the door). There has been talk amongst some of the people involved in talent relations (figure it out) about possibly raiding Ring of Honor and crippling them.

Now this is an interesting scenario, mainly because WWE has never seen ROH as competition, even up until two weeks ago. Ring of Honor, since 2002, has been the little engine that could and has a fraction of the resources and finances that a global conglomorate like WWE has. This story is eerily reminiscent of the mid-1980s expansion of the WWF where Vince McMahon began to raid talents to strengthen his roster. Almost EVERY wrestling fan, whether mark or smark, will agree that WWE NEEDS a fresher roster in 2009.

WWE is currently looking to analyze the contractual situations of various ROH talents (I don’t have ANY names as of this writing) to figure out when their ROH deals expire so that shortly prior to that, WWE open the gates of communication with these individuals. Because the ROH talents are under contract, I assume that won’t see anybody jumping ship anytime in the next couple of months, but in early 2010 I can definitely see at least a handful of ROH talents heading to the “E”. Can you blame them? WWE is the true only game in town in terms of fame and fortune, but the fact that it could go either way has to be a lingering thought in somebody who is already busting their ass week in and week out. Will they be the next CM Punk, or the next Scotty Goldman? That IS the question.

Where does that put ROH? Well ROH has managed to survive for years based not only on their ability to sell DVDs featuring high profile international match-ups as well as their focus on being a true alternative, so one would think much like ECW, the ROH brand name itself is just as important at selling than any major names. ROH has been through this before back in 2004 when TNA pulled a plethora of contracted main event stars from ROH and again in 2007 when both TNA AND WWE signed away numerous ROH top guys. But with DVD sales and ticket sales declining, can the little engine that could really survive a raid of this magnitude again?

I wrote earlier this year on FightGameBlog that ROH could die in 2009 or in 2010, before any of this news came out.

Well it looks like now, they’re going to REALLY have to prove me wrong.

BREAKING NEWS - Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin at UFC 106

Five Ounces of Pain is reporting that Brock Lesnar will make his next title defense of the UFC Heavyweight Championship of the World against a man whom I feel could be his greatest threat ever - Shane Carwin, at UFC 106.

UFC 106 is scheduled to be one of the biggest cards of the year LIVE on November 21st from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The other sub-main event for this card will be a battle of UFC legends as the returning Tito Ortiz will battle Mark “The Hammer” Coleman at light-heavyweight.

The original plan was to have Carwin face the other young contender Cain Velasquez in a number one contenders battle at UFC 104 with the winner facing Lesnar. We are unsure as to why this plan was scrapped but if you were to ask my, my theory is that Dana White, the Fertittas, and all of the UFC realize the limitless box office draw that Brock Lesnar is and want him fighting as often as possible per year. Every time that Brock fights it equals dollar signs and the UFC recognizes that it is in their best interests to feature him in as many big fights as possible to make the most money.

But is it too soon for Carwin? Some fans would argue yes. The All-American is undefeated in the UFC with a 4-0 record, and while he has looked like a complete monster against everybody he has faced, even brutally knocking out former title contender Gabriel Gonzaga in his last fight, some feel it’s too early, possibly because this may be a legitimate threat to Lesnar. In my opinion, the 4-0 record should not matter because Brock got a shot at Randy Couture with a 3-1 record going in. No double standard here. I have said for months since first laying eyes on Carwin that he IS the man who has a shot at not only beating Brock, but also annihilating him. He’s large, he’s strong, he’s a great wrestler, AND he is a much more accurate and proficient striker. Brock had better take this fight even MORE seriously than he did Couture or Mir.

Five Ounces also said that they believe that the Octagon will likely need to be reinforced because both giants weigh-in right around the 265 and will probably enter the cage at around 280 or 285.

Please note, I have NOT been able to confirm this through Wrestling Observer, Yahoo, or any of the major MMA publications nor has UFC commented on it just yet. We will update you as we hear more from this alleged amazing announcement.

Kurt Angle has been arrested by the Robinson Township Police Department and is currently in the Allegheny County Jail.

There was some kind physical altercation at Kurt’s house involving him and current girlfriend Trenesha Biggers, known to most as TNA’s Rhaka Khan. Shortly afterwards, she went to the police and filed an order of protection from abuse against Kurt. The cops came shortly after and removed Angle from the home this morning. Then, Sometime after 8 in the morning, Trenesha called the police again stating this time that Kurt followed her to a local Starbucks and that she felt like she was being stalked. She told authorities that Kurt, seemingly out of control, had been circling the Starbucks parking lot, deleting “abusive” photographs from Trenesha’s cell phone which he swiped. I've heard Kurt likes anal, so this COULD be what she's talking about. Maybe he abused her asshole.

The authorities arrived on the scene and Kurt was immediately questioned. The cops were suspicious that Kurt may have been driving under the influence, so they searched his vehicle and found two capped syringes and two vials of Human Growth Hormone. Angle claimed he had a prescription for the HGH and could supply it to the authorities.

Just like what Rick Ross said: "What's wrong with a little HGH?"

Angle was arrested and charges with Driving with a Suspended License (which stemmed from the DUI incident last year when Kurt refused to take a breathalyzer, which is an automatic suspension in the state of Pennsylvania), Posession (HGH), Harassment, and Breaking an Order of Protection.

Angle is a world class caliber athlete of the finest pedigree and it's sad that situations like these occur in his life far more frequently than they should. Angle has been involved in numerous scandals since the tail end of his WWE career, which really makes me wonder about TNA's alleged "we're going to take care of you" statements that Kurt claimed back in 2006. It could just all be bad luck. His HGH ragin' is out of control!

Over on FightGameBlog, The GG'ster reported that Dana White said that he is reversing the decisions in regards to the release of Leites and McCrory. Kevin Iole from Yahoo Sports says that they will indeed return.

Ughhh...

It makes me wonder why UFC is stocking up on all this talent. I have an idea, but I'll talk about that later.

Thales Leites Released - GOOD!

UFC has come to terms with the release of former UFC Middleweight contender Thales Leites earlier today. I can honestly say I am not in the least bit surprised.

Fuck this guy. I'm glad he's gone. He was trash from the start.

A lot of people were too quick to put the fucking blame Anderson Silva for making his battle with Thales Leites at UFC 97 a fight that almost ruined the PPV. Leites’ came under fire for having a way too defensive strategy (and after watching UFC 101, can you blame him?) against Silva shortly after his defeat. But come on, can you blame Silva for being such a fucking joke?

I haven’t watched it yet but I was told his pre-lim defeat to Alessio Sakara UFC 101 was the most boring fight of the year, even more than the Silva bore-fest. It’s strange because some feel Sakara didn’t deserve that win. Either way, the UFC does not like boring fights and neither do the spectators. But worst of all - I DONT like borefests, and I AM GOD, BITCH!

Silva could vacate Middleweight Title

According to a report that came out just a few hours ago, UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, coming off the absolute decimation of former Light-Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin on Saturday's UFC 101, may vacate the UFC Middleweight Championship to move up to 205 full time. A lot of us over on FightGameBlog thought of this, including myself who actually thinks that at this point it is almost UNFAIR for Silva to face guys at that weight.

Dana White said he would agree with that - which in a way sort of taints the belt because this is the second time that it's happened in the history of the belt. One can assume that if this does happen, it'll most likely be after the penned-in rematch with Dan Henderson for the UFC Middleweight Title on an upcoming PPV event. Should Silva win, then I'd expect him to vacate the belt either way simply because there is NO COMPETITION LEFT at 185. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. Should Henderson win, then obviously he'll just move up and no vacating will be necessary.

If or when Silva moves up to 205, should he dominate that division in the same fashion he has 185, then there is simply no denying that he is pound for pound the greatest fighter to ever lace them up, even moreso than Fedor, who rather than face true competition in the UFC, opted for a three-fight deal with Strikeforce. But in order to do that, he has to face and defeat the man he respects, loves, and some say fears - Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida, the undefeated UFC Lightheavyweight Champion of the ENTIRE EARTH. MMA just gets more and more interesting as the months go by.

We've seen WWE vs. Pro Boxing at Wrestlemania XXIV

Well now, the seeds have been planted for WWE vs. NBA, or at least one of the NBA's biggest stars - Shaq.

Some of the chatter amongst internet wrestling fans and people behind the scenes at "the fed" is that Shaq will indeed have a worked wrestling match with the Big Show sometime in 2009, preferably before the start of the next NBA season. WWE management was very impressed with Shaq's size, charisma, and believability. The third one is laughable to think about after watching such thrilling cinematic classics as "Kazaam" and "Steel". I remember going to the movie theatre and sitting in awe at the magnificent acting performance by the NBA superstar. Seriously though, the way WWE has been pushing the polls and replays of Shaq's appearance - its quite likely.

There was a little bit of talk prior to Shaq appearing that they could make this happen. This wouldn't be the first time Shaq was involved in wrestling. His first high profile moment was back at WCW's Bash at the Beach when he cornered Hulk Hogan against Ric Flair in their World Title match. Since then he's made a few appearances in WCW, as well as Raw and Smackdown during the attitude era - hanging out backstage. Shaq IS a legitimate fan and I'm sure the pay day would be great for him, but what about WWE?

Well historically when WWE does sports superstars vs. wrestlers, it's had varied success. One of the bigger high profile matches between basketball and wrestling was 1997's infamous tag match between Dennis Rodman and Hulk Hogan vs. Lex Luger and The Big Show, then known as The Giant. The following year, WCW did decent the following year - this time incorporating TWO NBA stars. Karl Malone teamed with rising star (despite being a fossil at the time) DDP against the Hogan and Rodman duo. Rodman returned yet again in 1999 and by that time - nobody cared.

Perhaps the key is to not overuse Shaq. Perhaps the key is to hide his weaknesses. I think both of these work. Shaq might be a horrible actor, horrible rapper, and even more horrible free-thrower, but he has a bizarre "dumb-guy" charisma that works. But what will really sell the angle was the awesome angle involving Shaq and Show choking each other - like two big lumbering towers (not to be confused with the ones that used to occupy New York City). This was BUYS folks.

So yes - expect a big buyrate from Shaq vs. Show when it's done.

Either way - Wrestling is SO GAY.

But seriously - you wanna know the real trick to selling this shit?

Shaq has to ask... the question. The most important question ever asked in the history of life itself. The question that, if not asked, will cause a chain reaction to where every proton and neutron to simultaneously explode at the speed of light and instantaneously stop all life as well know it in the entire universe!!

UFC 101: Silva and Penn came, saw, and conquered in Philadelphia

UFC 101 came and went and the story going in is the same going out - the main events.

I predicted both Anderson Silva and BJ Penn to dominate their respective fights at last night's UFC 101 PPV, but I could never predict what ended up happening.

UFC Middleweight Champion Silva battled former UFC Light-Heavyweight Champ Forrest Griffin, a guy who is known for being well-rounded and for having balls the size of melons, and manhandled him as if he were a guy who's never looked at a cage. Silva moved up in weight which is disadvantage to every fighter. Apparently Silva did not get that memo. This was borderline embarrassing for Griffin the whole way until he was finally finished with a jab. Forrest looked up, put his hand up, and his body language said "no more". I later found out Silva broke Griffin's jaw during the first knockdown and that was that. Silva was clearly faster, stronger, more skilled, and more accurate than not just Griffin, but everybody he has faced, in every single way. Can ANYBODY stop this man?

BJ Penn defended against #1 ranked lightweight Kenny Florian. I'm a fan of both men but it was clear Ken-Flo had no chance. Penn hired who he called the "best conditioning man in the game" to assist him with his cardio. BJ Penn in his weight class WITH his natural skill WITH cardio is pretty much unbeatable across the board. Florian, a great fighter, cleaned out a plethora of the contenders in the 155lb division until only he remained. Now - he has been beaten and beaten soundly. Penn dominated the first two rounds with rapid fire punches and blitzingly (?) fast knees. I've watched almost every single Penn fight, so once he took the mount I knew what was coming. After a few elbows to soften up Kenny, Penn locked in his infamous finisher - the "Rear Naked Choke of Pain And Suffering", and sent Ken packing to Tony Luke's for a cheesesteak.

What's next for BJ Penn? Diego Sanchez.

What's next for Anderson Silva? Umm... I'll get back to you on that one.

Fedor signs with Strikeforce

Over at our sister site of FightGameBlog.com, we received a very interesting press release from Strikeforce. You can read this in full by clicking here.

Apparently, Fedor Emelianenko, the WAMMA Champion and #1 Ranked fighter in the world has signed with Strikeforce as part of a deal with M-1 Global. Dana White threw some unbelievable amounts of cash and a sweeter deal than anybody perhaps in the history of the company at Fedor but he wouldn't budge. Fedor is a part-owner of M-1 Global and probably makes more cash off of that deal than anything.

As a business move, I can't really speak on it other than saying that if he REALLY makes that much off M-1, enough to justify him NOT to take the 30 million dollar deal Dana gave him, then OKAY. But it kind of pisses me off as a fan because this now kills all of the potential dream matches that UFC would've been able to put on, including Fedor vs. Couture and Fedor vs. Lesnar - two Dream Matches that hardcore fans want to see.

So now, we'll see Fedor vs. Brett Rogers and Fedor vs. Allistar Overeem, both of which will be relatively easy opponents for Emelianenko to destroy. But after that, there's what? Exactly. You've got two fights that will probably draw a decent crowd, but then what? Is this wise for Strikeforce owner Scott Cocker?

I have a theory as to a potential deal he might have pulled:

WWE Smackdown kicks more ass

It's no secret that since the 2009 WWE Draft back in April, that while WWE's goal was to strengthen Raw, they inadvertedly would up causing quite a unique side effect. Despite new talent being showcased on the Raw brand, it still feels like the same wishy-washy show with the same three or four guys rotating the main event spots with nothing fresh. Remember - this is the brand they wanted to REFRESHEN! Smackdown however, has turned into the must-see show of the week.

Every week it seems that Smackdown ends up outdoing every other show of the week due to it's combination of fresh new faces and characters, tremendous matches, and a focus on the actual in-ring storylines and less ga-ga and tomfoolery. If you've watched any episode of Smackdown for the past four months you were guaranteed a great to excellent match each and every time, sometimes even two! Smackdown has been doing what fans have wanted WWE to do for years - push new talent with compelling television. That's exactly what has happened here tenfold.

Last Friday's episode featured an awesome John Morrison vs. Jeff Hardy main event. Morrison has been having nonstop incredible matches with the likes of Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho, Edge, CM Punk, Finlay, and Jeff Hardy. If there was any doubt of Morrison's spectacular workrate - he's shut each and every naysayer away with his work in 2009. Morrison could be one of WWE's most rising stars of the future - if they allow him to be. The place for this to happen IS Smackdown.

So wrestling fans, all I am asking is that you don't count Smackdown out. I know that it comes on TV on a bad night and I am aware that it is pushed as a B show, but that matters not. Watch Smackdown every week and if you miss it, you can download it on Hulu.com. Trust me - it's all we've got left!

Affliction MMA Dies - Change to Superfriends 024 on July 29th

Well... In case you have been living under a rock or not following our updates over on FightGameBlog.com, Affliction as an MMA company is dead.

WAMMA Champion Fedor Emelianenko's opponent Josh Barnett was unable to get re-licensed by the California State Athletic Commission and as a result was pulled from the card. Officials within the company scrambled to find a main event replacement, with all kinds of crazy names thrown around including people two weights under Fedor and WWE star BOBBY LASHLEY even being considered. As a result of them being unable to replace Barnett, Affliction cancelled their Affliction: Trilogy PPV event and announced they would be running no more MMA shows. In addition, Affliction will work hand in hand with UFC and is now once again UFC's sponsor. The big question now is who will UFC attempt to sign and who WILL they sign and how fast will they do it?

Well UFC has scheduled a MAJOR press conference Friday, July 31st where they will make a "laundry list of announcements". Could it be Fedor? We shall see...

Major Change in upcoming Superfriends episode

So there has been a change. Due to his work switching up his schedule on him, Juice will not be able to cohost the 24th episode of Superfriends on July 29th (yeah yeah I know - bullshit). Got virus problems? I present a NEW solution

One thing that sucks about having a computer is that sooner or later it's almost a guarantee that you're going to catch a virus. It's like catching a cold - it's BOUND to happen eventually.

The problem with most virus scans is that they cost a shitfuck load of money and are really pieces of shit (Norton, McAfee) or after a while, they become obsolete (AVG, The Cleaner, Spybot, etc). The hackers and virus always find a way through.

Well I recently had a rootkit invade my system. I ran all of my good freeware, including Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, a program that I HIGHLY suggest everybody get, as well as Trend Micro's HijackThis and TrendMicro's online scan. The Malwarebytes program managed to get rid of some infected files, but the rootkit stayed.

Until I found a little program called ComboFix.

Now this virus was so powerful that it killed ComboFix upon my initial attempt. So I was like "fuck". Then I decided to reboot into Safe Mode and try it there and VIOLA - it started to run. ComboFix managed to fix every single error I had, found the rootkit, completely abolished it, and backed up my registry. I've never seen a program that measured up to ComboFix, and it's absolutely free.

Why do people keep watching TNA?

According to every single person I have spoken to or heard from, last night's TNA Victory Road 2009 PPV was the worst show they have seen since Heroes of Wrestling, which was in 1999, a DECADE AGO and infamously remembered for tarnishing the business for years to come.

Anybody who knows me personally knows that I attended almost every TNA Pay-Per-View from 2006 into 2007 in Orlando. They also know that I haven't watched a full episode of TNA Impact in almost two years now. It's no secret that this company has done everything morbidly possible to turn off a fan, much less a fan who attended MULTIPLE PAY PER VIEWS! Anybody who doesn't know me heard me say a condensed version of this on the Friday AngryMarks Podcast.

Needless to say, I didn't watch the fucking pay per view.

Bryan Alvarez, who hates everything TNA other than the two or three decent PPVs they have a year (yeah, two and three out of TWELVE), said it was the worst pay per view of the year by leaps and bounds and even Mike Johnson from PWInsider.com, who is notoriously picked on by elite members for always grading TNA on a curve, strongly disliked the show. Both of their criticisms are very similar, not only to teach other, not only to the majority of disenfranchised fans, but similar to the exact same complaints that have been made about TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING for the past THREE YEARS.

WWE has sucked quite a bit in the past, but even they have never reached the bowels of fecal matter like TNA has, even though they came close earlier this year. TNA has repeatedly been excessively bad and while they HAVE had one or two good shows sprinkled amongst the horse shit, the stench is still there.

But this whole thing here I'm writing ISN'T about the TNA show because, as I said, I didn't watch it.

No, this can be summed up into ONE word.

Why?

Not, why does it suck. I mean, sure, you can ask that, but you won't get an answer. Hell, their rating actually ROSE a few months ago, and in THAT office, every time that the rating goes up by a millimeter of a point, people do cartwheels.

No.

I wanna know why the FUCK do you PEOPLE KEEP WATCHING!!!!!

Week in and week out I see mouth breathing smart marks complain and complain and complain about TNA and rather than just put the crack down, they fucking keep watching the shit week after week after week HOPING that it gets better. Now, throughout the history of the business there have been BAD times for ALL companies. WWF went through it in 1995, but that was one year. The entire EXISTENCE of Herb Abrams UWF was some of the worst television ever made, but that was LESS than a year. The formerly mentioned Heroes of Wrestling show was ONE NIGHT!

This company has been ASS for THREE YEARS. THIRTY SIX MONTHS. ONE HUNDRED FIFTY SIX WEEKS. ONE THOUSAND THIRTY FIVE DAYS AND MORE!!!

Just fucking tell me, WHY do you keep watching?

Now remember, I'm not talking about those inbred TNA followers who support TNA because they hate WWE and can never give you a true reason why. No sir, these people are lost forever - why should I try to save them?

But... some of these people are my FRIENDS... and they STILL watch TNA, hoping and praying it'll get better!

I know wrestling fans are all a little bit sado-masochistic, regardless of whether they want to admit it. But the levels of this vary. I know people that range from the average DVD collector to the lowest piece of human scum ever and they all have a little or a lot of masochism to them. They know it's going to suck. They KNOW that the show is going to consistently insult your intelligence week after week after week. This is COMMON KNOWLEDGE. It is KNOWN! It is not opinion, it is FACTUAL INFORMATION!

And yet, they keep tuning in.

For THREE YEARS they CONTINUE to watch intently.

And what do they do after they tune in? They bitch on message boards and chatrooms about the SAME THING week after week. They complain about the same thing. Why? Why is it so difficult to just TURN IT OFF? I've been watching the wrestling business since 1989. Do the math, that is TWENTY YEARS. To say I'm a "hardcore fan" is an understatement.

I turned it off.

The DEFINITION of lunacy is somebody who does the same thing and expects a different outcome.

Are wrestling fans lunatics? Idiots? Mouth-breathers?

Perhaps.

Don't think I am insulting wrestling fans because I'm not. But I legitimately do not understand the logic behind watching something that is consistently bad week after week. When the OWNER OF THE COMPANY feels the need to retort to the viewing public by DEFENDING THE CREATIVE PROCESS rather than IMPLEMENT CHANGE, then how can you expect a chance will EVER be made.

So look, if you have any semblance of intellect - just stop. Stop watching. Why continue to torture yourself? Just stop.

Sorry Joe. Sorry AJ. Sorry Chris. I love you guys. You guys are great workers and deserve better, but it's so bad now that I can't condone society to accept the smelly vommit spewing from Panda.

Brock Lesnar - Hurtful to MMA or not?

Despite UFC 100 being SEVEN DAYS AGO, the splash damage left from it is uncontrollable. It seems like the talk of the week from almost every MMA-related web site, publication, blog, or message board has been Brock Edward Lesnar and his post-match promo after beating Frank Mir. It’s ironic that some of these alleged “MMA Purists” who want MMA to be seen as a sport moreso than an entertainment decide to focus all of their energy on everything NOT related to the actual fight.

Some of Mixed Martial Arts most well-known writers have been jibber-jabbering back and forth as to whether or not this is a positive or a negative for the sport of MMA and more-so the UFC. On one side of the argument, some feel Brock’s rebellious attitude of flipping off the fans and bashing the sponsors is going to make UFC look bush-league and “pro wrestling-ish”. Keep in mind that as of this writing, no sponsor has yet to pull out of UFC. They feel that Brock should be a good sportsman and act like a professional after winning a professional MMA fight, despite there not being any sort of rule in the “Unified Rules” against speaking your mind. Still, some see it as unprofessional.

The other side of spectrum, the majority of which are open-minded pro wrestling fans, long-time boxing fans, or long-time MMA fans, think that Brock’s promo is nothing but a pro for the UFC and will sell even more tickets. Lesnar is a PROVEN seller of tickets and Pay-Per-Views and I feel he will CONTINUE to do so, specially with all of the OTHER fans clamoring for somebody to come along and rip his head off. In my opinion, they’ll pay for each and every Brock fight until it happens, and this will make Lesnar, the UFC, and whoever his opponent is LOTS of money.

How people think this is a con, I’ll never understand. Throughout sports, larger than life celebrities and atheletes have ALWAYS been around. Look at guys like Terrell Owens, Dennis Rodman, Mike Tyson, and Muhammad Ali. These guys were notorious trash talkers and they did nothing but draw attention to the sport.

Or how about the guys that did truly despicable acts.

Can you really compare what Lesnar did to what Michael Vick did?

Can you really compare what Lesnar did to what OJ Simpson did (allegedly)?

All these situations happened AFTER the athletic competition (whether it be fight or game) was over. Is the NFL in ANY DANGER of LOSING fans??

Did Lesnar ever make dogs fight each other and run an illegal gambling ring? Has Lesnar ever murdered ANYBODY to our knowledge? Has Lesnar ever attacked a fighter AFTER the fight was already over? Has Lesnar even failed a wellness test since coming to the UFC?

Or worst of all…

HAS LESNAR EVER TRIED TO RELEASE A TERRIBLE RAP ALBUM?????

I THINK NOT!

Lesnar flipped off the fans that turned on him (ensuring that 99% will buy a ticket to come back, and that was obvious since the crowd was all hardcores), said he was going to drink beer, and have CONSENSUAL SEX with his WIFE! So even if you’re one of those “I’ll wait until I’m married” type folks, HE’S MARRIED FOLKS! SHE IS THE MOTHER OF HIS KIDS! But I digress, while I don’t agree with him bashing UFC sponsors, everything else he said, at least to me, was perfectly fine. Others don’t agree and you know what, opinions are like assholes - everybody has one (unless you were born with no asshole or had it removed with some surgery or something).

Even though Superfriends 023 hasn't even happened yet, we've already got big plans for Superfriends 024!

July 29th, 2008 - Big D and the Superfriends debuted and began to slowly but surely change the stratosphere of our solar system. We celebrate one year on July 29th, 2009 as Superfriends returns to the airwaves.

On this episode I will be joined by Juice a.k.a. Dadirrtywhyteboi of Youtube fame and we will be having an in-depth discussion about the connections between Mixed Martial Arts and Professional Wrestling. A lot of fans of either sport are a bit jaded on history in this aspect - both sports essentially derived from the exact same root and throughout history branched out separately but ultimately always came together in one way or another. For those of you snobby MMA and wrestling fans that insist the two are different - think again! We will also be taking YOUR calls, snobby or not. Either way, you'd have to be a complete idiot to miss any episode of the Superfriends Show!

Superfriends Penetrates the AngryMarks Podcast (No Homo)

I was a guest on a special Friday edition of the AngryMarks Podcast on AngryMarks.com along with FightGameBlog editor Garrett Gonzales and AM founder Stevie J. We talked about UFC 100: Making History last weekend and what came out of the card as well as the future of Mixed Martial Arts and whether or not it can truly be a viable top 5 pop culture sport. Then the conversation segued into what will NOT be a top 5 ANYTHING, TNA Victory Road. I honestly didn't know shit about fuck here and Stevie J had to carry the damn show because I haven't watched TNA television in almost one full calendar or perhaps longer.

Still it was a pretty fun show and preview of Season 2 of Superfriends.

Welcome to the all new Superfriends Variety Show site, home of the Superfriends Variety Show, formerly Big D and the Superfriends.

Big D and the Superfriends debuted on BlogTalkRadio and the AngryMarks Podcast Network on July 29th, 2008. Since then, we completed our first season with 22 episodes anywhere from one to two hours, with the season finale on January 27th, 2009. We had a variety of "Superfriends" make appearances throughout the season and we touched on a variety of topics, including pro wrestling, NFL, and mixed martial arts.

For Season 2, Big D and the Superfriends has been rechristened the Superfriends Variety Show, and this season we are going through MAJOR changes to fix up a lot of things that I felt were mistakes made during the first season.

Again, Welcome to the NEW Superfriends Variety Show – The Epitome of Manliness.

Besides just a few cosmetic differences and whatnot, the biggest change between this season and last season is what the show has become. This is NOT a pro wrestling podcast. It’s not an MMA podcast. It’s not an NFL podcast. Will we talk about such things on the show? Absolutely. The new Superfriends is a VARIETY show. We will talk about everything MANLY that I feel is MANLY, and this includes MMA, NFL, women, video games, Boxing, Sports Injuries, movies, cars, etc. You won’t want to miss a SINGLE episode of the new Superfriends.

Changes made for Season 2 (besides the obvious new name)

Less of a focus on guest stars and interviews and more of a focus on analysis and man-talk.
